How do I become a Wellbeing Ambassador?

You can express your interest by booking a call with your regional WPM here. You self-nominate to become a Wellbeing Ambassador. However, some leaders or other Wellbeing Ambassadors may also recommend colleagues who they think would be a great fit for the role.

Do I need approval from my manager to join the program?

No, you don’t. But it’s always great to let your manager know so they can celebrate and promote your new role within the team. They’ll also benefit from knowing you’re there to support with strategic wellbeing initiatives.

What does a Wellbeing Ambassador do?

Wellbeing Ambassadors champion wellbeing within their teams by starting conversations, sharing resources, hosting experiences, and signposting people to the right support. Wellbeing Ambassadors are not crisis responders or benefit experts. Your role is to encourage, connect, and inspire, not to provide professional mental health or medical advice.

What benefits are there in becoming a Wellbeing Ambassador?

You’ll help build a culture of wellbeing in your team, develop leadership and facilitation skills, connect with other Wellbeing Ambassadors globally, and gain access to exclusive training and resources.

Will I have to volunteer a lot of time to be a Wellbeing Ambassador?

Not at all. The role is designed to be flexible. Even small actions, like sharing a wellbeing resource, event invite, or encouraging a team pause, make a difference. Wellbeing Ambassador activity can be integrated into your existing meetings and team practices. It’s about weaving wellbeing into daily life rather than adding more to your workload.

What’s the difference between a Wellbeing Ambassador and a Pavelka Wellbeing Program Manager (WPM)?

Wellbeing Ambassadors support their local teams with wellbeing activities and resources. Pavelka WPMs oversee wellbeing strategy at a regional and global level and are your go-to contact for guidance, budget, and support.

What training is available for Wellbeing Ambassadors?

You’ll gain access to on-demand training modules, monthly Wellbeing Ambassador meetings, cohort-based training modules, as well as additional development opportunities. To access the training, you will need to ensure that you are logged into the Pavelka App. The Wellbeing Ambassador Program training can be found here.

Are there opportunities to connect with other Wellbeing Ambassadors?

Yes. We host regular meetings, and you can connect through your regional Webex Space to share ideas and experiences. We also always aim to meet up with Wellbeing Ambassadors in the area when we are at in the room events.

I want to do something for my team/office, what can I do?

You can host a wellbeing experience, run a team challenge, or start smaller by sharing Pavelka resources. Check out some virtual or in the room ideas or reach out to your regional WPM.

Can Pavelka support our team with an experience?

Yes. Pavelka can support with advice and guidance to help shape your activity, and in some cases with budget too. To request budget, submit a budget approval form. Budgets vary depending on the event. Requests must meet minimum criteria and are reviewed by your regional WPM based on impact and alignment to wellbeing goals. You can also reach out to your WPM to discuss your idea further. 

How do I ensure an event is successful?

Start by identifying what success looks like (e.g. boosting team connection or raising awareness of a resource). Align it to a business objective, then measure impact with pre-/post-event polls or feedback.

Do I have to run events, or can I contribute in other ways?

Not at all. There are many ways to make an impact, such as sharing wellbeing tips, promoting digital resources or wellbeing events, or starting small conversations with your team.

What kinds of activities are most impactful for teams?

Simple, inclusive activities that encourage connection and reflection often have the biggest impact. Here are some virtual and in the room ideas you could start with or you could reach out to other Wellbeing Ambassadors in your regional Webex space to see what has worked well previously for them.

Points are awarded for completing training, hosting activities, sharing feedback, and attending Wellbeing Ambassador events.

Is there recognition for Wellbeing Ambassadors who are particularly active?

Yes. Wellbeing Ambassadors have the chance to received quarterly raffle prizes based on engagement utilizing a points system. Additionally, we spotlight Wellbeing Ambassadors at monthly meetings and in team spaces. With Executive Sponsorship, we will also provide quarterly insights for the overall program at the SLT level.

How do I measure the impact of my actions as an Wellbeing Ambassador?

Impact can be tracked through event feedback, team engagement, and pre-/post-polls. Your WPM can support you in aligning activities with measurable outcomes. You can also learn more about this on our on demand Upskilling program here.

What if I run into challenges or low engagement from my team?

This is normal! Speak with your WPM or other Wellbeing Ambassadors to share ideas and strategies. Sometimes small, consistent actions can be just as effective (sometimes more effective) than big one-off events.

Who can I contact if I have questions or need support?

Your regional WPM is your first point of contact. You can also connect with other Wellbeing Ambassadors via your regional Webex space and in monthly meetings.

How often are Ambassador meetings? Do I need to attend them all?

Meetings are monthly. While attendance is encouraged (and points are awarded), recordings and resources are shared afterwards if you can’t make it.
