About Back to Basics

You are what you digest! In this module of the learning pathway you will learn about the main food groups and why they are all important. We will explore the micronutrients in our food to understand how the body uses them.

We will also look at cutting through the confusion around dieting.

Objective:

Familiarise yourself with the building blocks of a healthy diet and how to make positive food choices.

Outcome:

You will leave with an understanding how the human digestive system works, and the nutrients required to support those functions. You will take away some practical meal ideas and learn the importance of portion control and balance.
