Community Impact Manager

about ajay

As the Community Impact Manager at Cisco, Ajay Gopal leads global strategy & thought leadership for the team that creates, curates & consults on Cisco’s corporate citizenship strategy centered around employee community impact. He partners with various internal stakeholders such as business functions, employee resource groups, regional leaders & employee communities to drive Cisco’s employee community impact efforts. He is pioneering efforts to apply evidence-based insights built on the foundation of behavioral/cognitive science, economics & nudges to promote corporate citizenship.  

Ajay is known for his passionate social impact leadership and comes with over a decade of experience in the social sector. He is a PROUD Ally serving as the India CO-Lead for the PRIDE employee resource group. He is a storyteller, theatre artist,  public speaker and youth parliamentarian with over 100+ stage performances to his credit. Ajay holds an Industrial Engineering & Management degree from B.M.S College of Engineering, Bangalore – the first private Engineering College in India.  

Korrin Cleaver

Korrin Cleaver has been with Cisco for over 9 years partnering with a variety of business functions across the Asia Pacific region, currently the P&C lead for CX APJC. Always passionate about giving back, Korrin supports a number of causes through her work with Cisco, and externally.  

Having always been an active member of Women of Cisco and Back to Business, Korrin has also helped to launch and co-lead the ANZ Diabetes Support Network in FY22. 

Korrin utilizes Cisco’s philosophy of work and life flexibility by working part time and working from anywhere, while being mum to Scarlett 7, William 6, Amelia 4, and Lachlan 2.

Albert works as a Territory Manager in Service & Logistics organization to provide world-class delivery experience for the customers in the ASEAN region. 

He is passionate about giving back and has been championing Cisco Singapore volunteering efforts with the local community to support broad range of causes such as homeless, poverty, disabled and vulnerable groups.

Balasubramaniam M is a founder and mentor of CiscoRunners & Cyclists Club & Program Manager managing Community Sharing Programs for Cisco India.  

Bala comes with 3 decades of Industry experience. Over 19 years in Marketing & Business Development and over 11 years in L&D Community Sharing.  

He is passionate about long distance running and started Cisco Runners Club in 2013 along with colleagues Brijesh and Naidu with 40 members, which has now grown to more than 600 members now. Bala has done 2 Ultra Marathons, 3 Full Marathons, over 60 Half Marathons and numerous 10Kms.Bala did 1500+ Kms in both 2020 and 2021, during Pandemic for RTTM&B due to which endurance & discipline improved.  

With his enthusiasm and passion, he kept the CiscoRunners group highly active during pandemic lockdown!

Gordon Thomson leads the EMEA Architecture and Sales Specialists organisation.

His greatest passion is engaging closely with customers, partners, and sales teams, and demonstrating how technology can navigate all of the new challenges and opportunities ahead.

Previously, Gordon was the global sales leader for Intent-Based Networking where his team drove the sales motions for transforming the customer experience through Cisco’s core portfolio, which represents 40 percent of Cisco’s total product revenue.In this role, Gordonand his global team worked closely with customers and partners, leading them through major market transitions to ensure their businesses thrive and grow.

A 25-year Cisco veteran, he develops and implements innovative go-to-market models that accelerate the shift to software selling and digital transformation, while building strong teams and followership.

Gordon's legacy will be his belief in the power of people and teams to achieve powerful results through go-to-market innovation and high-trust relationships with customers.

Jeremie Garnier

Jeremy has been working within Cisco's Innovation Team for over 15 years. In this time he has focused on Cloud software solutions.

While this role has afforded the opportunity to learn and stay on the cutting-edge of Innovation Technologies, he has also spent much of the last 8 years bringing people in the development community together by co-leading DevOps transformation within Cisco.

As you’ve seen, he enhances the collaboration and sharing culture and for the last 10 yeas, has been involved and supportive of many CSR activities.  Jeremy uses his Time2Give for deeper impact by mentoring people and NGOs. Sharing how tech can be used for good is a huge passion for Jeremy, who has been involved in Cisco's Connectivity Project and won the Cisco Bridge Award for all of the work done with Techfugees.

Sam Moylan Heydt

Sam is best known for running the work experience programmes and for organising and hosting fun employee events such as pub quizzes and seasonal events.

The UK work experience program currently sees 300 students spend the week with Cisco.

 Sam has been involved in giving back at Cisco from the very start of her time as a member of the Cisco team. She first drove the minibus for Ride Across Britain back in 2011 raising money for the  Paralympic team. 

Her favourite thing to organise is Cisco's Connected Santa - where you will find her dressed up as the Elf. It's fair to say where there is a costume you will find Sam!

Rachael Chambers

RACHAEL CHAMBERS, is an 18 year Cisco veteran with experience in multiple organizations including People and Communities, Sales Strategy, Planning and Operations, Global Accounts and IT. Before Cisco, her career includes tenures at Google, Netscape, Excite and MCI. She holds a BA from the University of California at San Diego.

In February 2021, Rachael joined the People and Communities organization and is currently Director of Emerging Priorities and Operations for C-BEAM (Communications, Brand, Events, and Marketing)

She served as the co-chair for the Global Enterprise Segment Culture team focused on programs that drove employee recruitment, recognition, retention. Rachael also leads the GES Give Back initiative for the Covenant House. In 2019, she successfully led the effort for the Covenant House that resulted in Cisco being awarded the “Partner of the Year” for the top fundraising company, raising over $2.4M for youth experiencing homelessness in the US and Canada. In 2019, she was inducted into the Multi-Ethnic Sports Hall of Fame for the “Don’t Give Up” award.

Prior to her current role, she was responsible for the strategic evolution, management and execution of “Cisco IT Data Center Day”, an annual event in Allen, Texas for customers and corresponding account teams. Data Center Day is designed to inform customers on key technologies, meet with Cisco Executives and experience the LEED-Gold certified Allen Data Center. The event went global and virtual in February 2016 with the completion of the first EMEA Data Centre Day in Bedfont Lakes.

Her passion for teaching has always played a key role in her career by providing mentorship as well as participating in teams and committees focused on furthering the careers and job development for others.

Her family includes her husband of 22 years, two children, 5 dogs, 9 cats and various other rescued creatures. She is very active in animal rescue and volunteers for 2ndChance4Pets.org. She is an avid photographer and huge San Jose Sharks hockey fan.

Fabiola Porras is Manager of the Virtual Partners Account Managers (VPAMs) in Latin America. Has 17 years working at Cisco.

Fabiola is leader of Women of Cisco in MRC Region, Community Impact and Full Circle Leader for LatAm, a member of the Green Team in Costa Rica and CiscoPavelka Pioneer for MCR region. 

Fabiola is motivated by creating connections, and inspiring others. Fabiola practices servant leadership; with respect, teamwork, success and wellbeing.  

Fabiola’s credos reinforce her passion and authenticity, be an inspiration for many, women, professionals, and leaders. 

Gena Pirtle

Gena Pirtle is a seasoned communications, change management, and CSR leader at Cisco, having over 25 years tenure at Cisco.

Throughout her career, she has spearheaded a number of strategic diversity & inclusion and workforce initiatives.

Currently she leads the global Inclusive Community Experience team which supports over 30 employee-led groups engaging nearly 25,000 employees delivering on Cisco’s commitment to power an Inclusive Future for All.
